AYURVEDA AND YOGA

Ayurveda and Yoga are two of the India’s earliest exports that have been very well received in the Western world. In Australia , Yoga and Meditation was started around 50’s and Swami Saraswati was seen every morning in every home by her TV exercises in the 60’s. It has now taken root in every cities and towns due to its unsurpassed benefits . Initially it was frowned upon by the Churches here due to its Hindu origins. But as the populace got more educated and more aware of its universality, it became a saviour to many a souls.

Second to make an impact was the Ayurveda , the mother science of Yoga. European and German Drug firms were very much aware of the existence of the Asian Natural Herbal medicines and after the Industrial revolution they really embraced them. Today Ayurvedic medicines are very well accepted in Europe and the Americas. Indian firms are easily exporting to these countries. In America alone, Natural Medicines accounted to b last year. Current champions of Ayurveda , Dr Deepak Chopra , Baba Ramdeo , Vikram ( Vikram Yoga) are the envy of all Western Natural Medicine Health Gurus. Hundreds of Ayurveda tourist hotels have sprung up in India to cash in on the Wests quest to live longer and stay healthier. Panch Karma is the main therapy that they are going for , where after one month of intensive rejuvenation therapies they are able to shed away up to ten years of their old age .

Australia is following the examples of the overseas countries in terms of accepting Ayurvedic medicines but is very slow. Only three years ago did official Victorian Government Health website has finally recognized Ayurveda as one of the most potent herbal medicines around. WHO recognized it 25 years ago.
